Zur Schriftkultur des Mittelalters und der Frühen Neuzeit gehören nicht nur Handschriften und Drucke, sondern auch Inschriften, die auf unterschiedlichen Materialien und Gegenständen, auf Plätzen und Gebäuden angebracht wurden. Auf den ersten Blick scheint ihr Zweck offenkundig: Sie zeigen Besitz an oder erinnern an vergangene Personen und Ereignisse. Rekonstruiert man aber die Kontexte und Praktiken sowie die Bedeutung von Beschreibstoffen, Layout und Formaten, eröffnen Inschriften eine Vieldeutigkeit, die keine einfachen Antworten mehr zulässt. Gesteigert wird dies noch, wenn man real erhaltene mit solchen Inschriften konfrontiert, die in Chroniken, Romanen, Legenden oder mystischen Visionen dieser Zeit beschrieben werden. Die Autorinnen und Autoren des vorliegenden Buches fragen danach, welche Bedeutungen den Inschriften in Mittelalter und Früher Neuzeit beigemessen wurden – etwa im städtischen Raum, an Gräbern, in intermedialen Konstellationen – und welche Funktionen sie darüber hinaus im historiografischen, geistlichen oder genealogischen Erzählen ausbilden konnten. Dies ist ein Open-Access-Buch.

This book offers a comparative perspective on the structural and interpretive properties of root-clause complementizers in Ibero-Romance. The driving question the author seeks to answer is where the boundaries between syntax and pragmatics lie in these languages. Contrary to most previous work on these phenomena, the author argues in favor of a relatively strict distribution of labor between the two components of grammar. The first part of the book is devoted to root complementizers with a reportative interpretation. The second part deals with root complementizers and commitment attribution. Finally, the last part presents the results of empirical studies on the topic.

Głównym celem publikacji jest analiza procesu kształcenia nauczycieli języków specjalistycznych (JOS) w Polsce. Jest to kwestia o tyle istotna, że na coraz bardziej zglobalizowanym rynku pracy, umiejętność komunikowania się w języku obcym zawodowym jest niezwykle pożądana, a absolwenci filologii coraz powszechniej zatrudniani są jako lektorzy języka zawodowego lub trenerzy lingwistyczni w firmach i korporacjach międzynarodowych. Książka zawiera teksty badaczy reprezentujących różne ośrodki naukowe. Zebranie wyników badań oraz indywidualnych doświadczeń reprezentantów różnych filologii i specjalności z pozwoliło na przedstawienie dziedziny kształcenia nauczycieli języków specjalistycznych w sposób wieloaspektowy. Dzięki temu możliwe było zarysowanie kierunków rozwoju tej dziedziny dydaktyki w Polsce, a także określenie zestawu kompetencji (zarówno dydaktycznych, jak i miękkich), wymaganych od przyszłych nauczycieli-trenerów.
